PartFit 3D
Split STL & 3MF files to fit any 3D printer
PartFit 3D launched on August 2, 2026 with 7 votes, #1,411 of 23,274 launches that month and more than 90% of that year's launches.
What it does
A free, private, browser-based STL and 3MF splitter for oversized 3D-print models. Orient a model, cut it repeatedly, check every resulting part against your printer build volume and safety margin, then export slicer-ready STL or 3MF files. No upload, account, CAD installation, or server-side model processing is required for the core tool.
Fit oversized STL and 3MF models to your 3D printer. Orient, cut, verify every part, and export slicer-ready 3MF or STL files. No uploads or CAD required.
Choose your printer, find a workable orientation, cut only when needed, and verify that every piece is ready for your slicer. Choose a model and printer. PartFit will check the size and preview a cut plan before making any changes. Upload an STL or 3MF, then choose the printer you plan to use. PartFit keeps the decision in your hands while removing the tedious size checking after every cut. Recheck fit, boundaries, non-manifold edges, and watertight seals after every cut. Select any oversized result and split it again without restarting your project. STL and 3MF geometry is processed locally. Your model is not sent to a PartFit server. Presets include the most common desktop printers. Add a…from partfit3d.com

3D Viewer for Google DriveJan 2026 · 3dviewer.co · ▲91I use a ton of 3D Files as I love 3D printing in my spare time and I usually exchange them over Gmail and store them in Google Drive etc.. Google does not have a 3D Preview of files so I've built a small Google Workspace Addon that opens the file into a clean "Google like" web app that supports most files. Other solutions existed but they were full of ads and looking absolutely terrible. It got a bit of traction (around 400 users) on the store so thought I would share it here! Would love to have feedback! Each file is treated purely in the browser for maximum privacy

Clipto MCP▲655Hey HN, We recently built Clipto. It’s a tool that lets you search over terabytes of video, audio, and images on your computer, without relying on the cloud. Motivation: we probably all had this similar experience, we know a moment exists in a video or audio, but finding it takes hours scrubbing the timeline. You can send all the media to process in the cloud, but it’s slow, expensive and raises privacy concerns. So we decided to build our own on-device media search engine. How it works (high level): 1. We ingest video, audio, image; normalize formats via ffmpeg; run content analysis to…

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…
