The PDF parser is a rule based parser which uses text co-ordinates (boundary box), graphics and font data. The PDF parser works off text layer and also offers a OCR option to automatically use OCR if there are scanned pages in your PDFs. • Parqeye – A CLI tool to visualize and inspect Parquet filesNov 2025 · github.com · ▲167

I built a Rust-based CLI/terminal UI for inspecting Parquet files—data, metadata, and row-group-level structure—right from the terminal. If someone sent me a Parquet file, I used to open DuckDB or Polars just to see what was inside. Now I can do it with one command. Repo: https://github.com/kaushiksrini/parqeye

  • PDF to MD by LLMs – Extract Text/Tables/Image Descriptives by GPT4o2024 · github.com · ▲191

I've developed a Python API service that uses GPT-4o for OCR on PDFs. It features parallel processing and batch handling for improved performance. Not only does it convert PDF to markdown, but it also describes the images within the PDF using captions like `[Image: This picture shows 4 people waving]`. In testing with NASA's Apollo 17 flight documents, it successfully converted complex, multi-oriented pages into well-structured Markdown. The project is open-source and available on GitHub. Feedback is welcome.
