PEP8Speaks – Now helping 5k open source projects write clean Python launched on April 5, 2020 with 5 votes, #1,770 of 5,003 launches that month and more than 50% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 6 years on.
What it does
PEP 8 is Python's recommended coding style convention, popular across software written in Python language. PEP8Speaks is a GitHub app which reviews the Python code style in Pull Requests. My primary motivation to create this project was to reduce the workload of code maintainers and reviewers in Open Source. They spend a valuable amount of time doing code reviews. Checking and fixing code style is something that can be automated. Hence, it must be! I made the first commit in December 2016. I was in my third year of college. In my first two summer breaks, I had been contributing to Open Source projects in Python, mainly because of the Google Summer of Code program. And in a few months, I was…from orkohunter.net

Practical Python Projects book release2021 · practicalpython.yasoob.me · ▲88Hi everyone! I just released the Practical Python Projects book! (https://practicalpython.yasoob.me) I am happy to announce the first version as a release candidate. I have poured a lot of love into writing this book and would love to hear what you guys think. (A limited 100% off and discount coupons at the end) This is not a pure beginner book. The book does assume some background Python knowledge. You need to know the basics like methods, functions, classes, and such. If I use something that is not typically covered in beginner Python books, I will explain it before I use it.…

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

https://github.com/OlexG/finclaw ^ repo if anyone wants to contribute. I realized that sometimes I'm pretty good at making random guesses about the future. (I.E, I think OpenAI will beat Anthropic in the short term, etc...) However, I'm bad at converting these guesses into actual market plays I can profit from. As such, I wanted to make a tool that connects to the right APIs and launches a swarm of agent experts to generate related plays based on your prediction. The very first super shitty V0 MPV just has Polymarket/Kalshi bets, but I will be adding a more complex…
