Pepbot, disposable email service with a twist

Hello HN! Meet my baby: Pepbot http://pepbot.com It's a disposable temp email service (like Mailinator and many others) with the ability to automate the boring email verification task that some services require (check mail -> click the confirmation link -> activate account). It's a project I've coded during weekends for sharpen my python and sys admin skills. I am looking for feedback! What do you think?

Pepbot, disposable email service with a twist launched on November 25, 2010 with 19 votes, #21 of 59 launches that month and more than 75% of that year's launches. The site was not reachable when checked in September 2026.

In plain words

Pepbot is a disposable email service that generates temporary email addresses for users who need to verify accounts without using their real email. Unlike standard temp email services, Pepbot automates the email verification process by automatically detecting confirmation links and clicking them to complete account activation. This eliminates the manual steps of checking mail and confirming accounts. The service is designed for developers and users who want to streamline the registration process for services requiring email verification.

It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
