Persephone is a Windows notepad replacement for developers. Built with Electron and Monaco Editor, it adds a JS/TS scripting engine that transforms content directly. Features: JSON/CSV grids, Markdown preview, PDF viewer, REST Client, built-in browser with Tor, and an MCP server letting AI assistants drive the UI. Open source and extensible via Node.js.

As a native Windows user who switched to macOS a few years back, one thing I never got over was the simplicity and usefulness of the old school Notepad app. This app aims to recreate that very same experience, cross-platform and easily installable as a PWA. I recently released version 1.4 of Notepad.exe, my editor built for macOS. The goal of the app is to let you prototype ideas in Swift or Python with minimal setup - write code, hit Run, skip project scaffolding. This release adds support for a Linux runtime/subsystem, so you can write on macOS and execute snippets in a Linux environment.
