What it does

With Phraseloop you can select a song, pick a section you wanna learn, loop it, slow it down and practice along with it. This is applicable for any instrumentalist or vocalist who wants to learn something hard and the speed is out of reach (right now). Phraseloop works with Youtube as well as Audio & Video files. Loop a section of any YouTube video or your own file and slow it down to 0.25x, pitch intact, and repeat it until it feels natural. Free, no account.

Practicing a difficult bar means hearing it slowly, hearing it often, and not breaking your concentration to rewind. PhraseLoop marks the passage once, drops the speed as far as you need, and repeats it until it feels natural. It works with any YouTube video or a file from your own device. Paste a YouTube link, or drag in a video or audio file from your own device. Both give you the same controls. Local files stay on your machine. Press A where the difficult part starts and B where it ends. The markers sit on the timeline and can be nudged in small steps once you are close. Drop the speed anywhere between 0.25x and 2x.   • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes&#x2F;sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it.
