  • WikTok – A Recommendation UI for Wikipedia2023 · wiktok.org · ▲73

Hi HN, WikTok is a UI for Wikipedia that lets you quickly swipe (or use your arrow keys) to navigate between random and recommended articles (based on the previous articles you interacted most with). It's just a fun project I hacked together this weekend, so may be a little rough around the edges, but I'd love to get your thoughts. Let me know if you have any suggestions (or find any interesting articles!) Cheers,

  • Pickle BrowserAug 2026 · picklebrowser.com · ▲82

I use agents for a lot of my own work, but whenever they access my browser they end up wasting a lot of tokens reading HTML, so I tried building a browser that simplifies webpage content for them. Pickle is an agent browser and it has all the features a regular browser has (tabs, search history, bookmarks, etc.), but pages load as compact structured data instead of raw HTML to reduce token usage. Overview for those curious: It's policy-gated (blocked domains, actions that need approval like purchases) and every action is logged, so you're always able to see what your agent is doing and can…

  • Wikipedia Browser a La Andy Matuschak's Evergreen Notes2024 · steezeburger.com · ▲117

I was inspired by Andy Matuschak's Evergreen Notes viewer and created this small web app to browse Wikipedia in the same way. Clicking on a link opens the content in a new pane to the right. And you can resize panes. It's really nice for following rabbit holes or checking out lists from articles. Let me know what you think! Code here: https://github.com/steezeburger/wikipedia-browser

  • I Built a Site That Curates Weird YouTube Rabbit Holes Daily2025 · yourabbit.com · ▲59

I built Yourabbit.com — a site that curates hand-picked YouTube rabbit holes grouped by themes like quirky psychology, obscure tech, weird facts, and binge-worthy oddities. It’s not driven by the YouTube algorithm — every collection is themed and curated manually (for now), with a backend I’m automating to fetch and organize new rabbit holes daily. Built as a hybrid Astro + Next.js project, optimized for static generation and speed. I’m also pairing videos with custom summaries and commentary (using AI), and would love feedback from the HN crowd on: Content model (too wide? not specific…

Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
