Pickpile - Reels to watchlist
Save any movie or show from social media to your watchlist
What it does
Pickpile turns "I'll watch that later" into an actual list. Share any movie or show post from TikTok, Instagram, or anywhere else straight into the app, and it's saved automatically — poster, title, everything. See exactly where to stream it, with real deep links to the right service. Build one central watchlist instead of scattered screenshots, organize titles into collections, check friends' ratings instead of trusting an algorithm, and match watchlists to finally agree on movie night.
Download Pickpile by Lorenz Bohlander on the App Store. See screenshots, ratings and reviews, user tips, and more apps like Pickpile.
Version 2.0 is the biggest update since launch: films you swipe over together, collections, a feed worth scrolling, and recognition that finally reads the whole post. MATCH NIGHT Pick tonight’s film with the people on the couch. Start a round, share the six-digit code, and everyone swipes the same deck. Filter it to films, series or a handful of genres first, play the trailer on the card, and when everyone swipes right on the same title, that’s the pick. Only one phone in the room? Pass it around; any number of players works. COLLECTIONS Group your saved titles into date-night picks, a horror marathon, best of the year. Choose the cover, reorder by hand, and file a title straight from the…from apps.apple.com

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
