Pigeon

Hey HN, My friend and I built a Chrome extension called Pigeon because we kept Googling “Reddit + [product name]” whenever we wanted to know what real people thought about something. Pigeon saves that step by looking at what’s on the page, finding related Reddit discussions, and showing the most helpful comments and opinions in one place. We’ve both found it super useful when researching products or topics online and thought others might too. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Pigeon launched on October 1, 2025 with 99 votes, #315 of 8,178 launches that month and more than 90% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.

What it does

Pigeon analyzes any webpage to generate context-aware questions, surface related Reddit discussions, rank the most helpful comments, and provide AI-powered summaries, enabling fast discovery of real user opinions for research, shopping, and reviews.

In the maker’s words, at launch

We built Pigeon, a Chrome extension that finds real opinions from Reddit about any product or topic you’re viewing online. It works by scanning the page, identifying what you’re looking at, and pulling in relevant discussions and quotes, summarized and shown right in your browser. Launched last week, now at 150 users.

The tool actually hit Product Hunt #1 back in February. Since then I’ve added a bunch more on top of the original version. Now you just describe the intent or goal for the leads you want, and it searches based on keywords and a bunch of other signals to surface the best ones for you. I also added a Reddit-powered content writer. Basically, you pick a topic or category, and it pulls the top posts from Reddit, analyzes what made them go viral, and helps you write content using the same patterns. Reddit is super underrated for content. If something blows up there, it almost always spreads to…

Hello HN, I’m Kamil. The past months have been filled with news about ChatGPT, Bard, etc. Thankfully, there are some heroic attempts to bring that power to the users. I wanted to contribute to that effort with my side project, an extension for Chrome: it makes searching the history by meaning – instead of the exact words – possible. This is only a proof of concept, building on the excellent transformers.js[0], and running entirely in the browser. My goal here is to explore the possibilities unlocked by a client-side AI. I would love to have your feedback, to know which direction that project…

  • I went down the rabbit hole on a side project and ended up building this: Strange Attractors(https://blog.shashanktomar.com/posts/strange-attractors). It’s built with three.js. Working on it reminded me of the little "maths for fun" exercises I used to do while learning programming in early days. Just trying things out, getting fascinated and geeky, and being surprised by the results. I spent way too much time on this, but it was extreme fun. My favorite part: someone pointed me to the Simone Attractor on Threads. It is a 2D attractor and I asked GPT to extrapolate it to…

  • Hey all, I built this. It’s not trying to capture every autistic experience (that’d be impossible). It’s based on my own lived experience as well as that of friends on the spectrum. I'm trying to give people a feel for what masking, decision fatigue, and burnout can look like day-to-day. That’s hard to explain in words, but easier to show through choices and stats. I'm not trying to "define autism". I’ve gotten good feedback here about resilience, meds, and difficulty tuning. I’ll keep tweaking it. If even a few people walk away thinking, "ah, maybe that’s why my coworker struggles in those…
