I don't often review apps... and especially not after just having gotten it. I'm so excited to have found this replacement for my beloved Calc. Exactly the kind of calculator I didn't know I needed. Instantly calculates whatever you type in, allows for variables, and your entries edit like a regular text editor. Perfect for calculations of reactance, for tallying up the receipts, unit and currency conversions. Big kudos to the programmer! I made a web-based notepad with a built in unit calculator2022 · numpad.io · ▲488I launched NumPad v1 on here a few years ago, and back then it wasn't much more than a thin CodeMirror wrapper around the calculator engine I'd written. Now I've rewritten it as a PWA that supports multiple documents, persists them to IndexedDB, and has a syncing service for paying customers. Syncing is handled by Automerge[1] under the hood, which should make it relatively easy to get document sharing working too. [1] https://automerge.org/

I made a thing! In 2014, I was holding a stack of iPhones and thought to myself: "Hey, if I had each phone display a playing card, I could click a button and they'd shuffle themselves" I pared that idea all the way down to this: trading cards made of e-ink displays. Right now, each card costs me about $20 each, but with only a bit more scale, I think I can get that down to $10. In doing this project, I learned how to design electronics and circuit boards.
