Please review http://GetLocalNe.ws
Originally begun as a sort of 'weekend' project, it has been a bit of a struggle, but finally I think we've brought it to a state where I can request reviews, feedback etc.: http://GetLocalNe.ws Please feel free to report bugs/problems or post feedback/suggestions on any aspect of it. Geolocation accuracy (or inaccuracy) reports will be highly appreciated. Quality of data is being rigorously assessed now, but the current data should be at least reasonably okay. Please let me know otherwise. Work on identifying and integrating XML/RSS feeds from news sources is on now and this will be…
What it does
In the maker’s words, at launch
Originally begun as a sort of 'weekend' project, it has been a bit of a struggle, but finally I think we've brought it to a state where I can request reviews, feedback etc.: http://GetLocalNe.ws Please feel free to report bugs/problems or post feedback/suggestions on any aspect of it. Geolocation accuracy (or inaccuracy) reports will be highly appreciated. Quality of data is being rigorously assessed now, but the current data should be at least reasonably okay. Please let me know otherwise. Work on identifying and integrating XML/RSS feeds from news sources is on now and this will be implemented in phase-II, within a week or so. Identification and addition of new news sources is also being carried out now. You can help (greatly) by suggesting additional news sources known to you using the 'Suggest a News Source' link. Please feel free to post feedback at the site Guestbook too. Over to you now: http://GetLocalNe.ws

The idea: The idea is to create a news aggregator that geolocates the news, it analyses the news and displays an article on a street/city/region (location in general) if it is mentioned in that article. The website will later give you notifications about what is mentioned in the news nearby. The current situation of the project: For now I have a minimum viable product, I have the website up and running that shows how the news will be displayed on a map. What I am asking: It will be really very nice of you if you can give me feedback, any feedbacks even negative ones are really more…

Put this together this afternoon. I've been after something to quickly jot down the odd piece of information that I can access later in the day when browsing the web. Hopefully you find it useful. Criticism/thoughts/ideas greatly appreciated. I should add, since all the hard work here lies in the work of others here — garlic.js is a great plugin for handling localstorage. Cheers Jason

Waiting on hold wastes your time AND your concentration; you can't be coding in the zone when part of your brain is waiting for an operator. Our solution: We wanted to make it "one click" to reach a real person. How it works: You click on who you want to talk to (even a specific department, like the billing dept at…

I recently decided to try out Google Tasks as my only task management system, and while I find some things about the interface great, it really isn't suited for someone like me who has multiple lists with lots of elements on each. So, I whipped this together real fast and I can't imagine using Google Tasks without it anymore. I realized you might want it too, so I put it on the web. Enjoy :)
