Polynya – Turn your Postgres into workspaces for AI

The idea is simple: AI agents need real-time data to be useful. But streaming real-time data into your data warehouse means you need the data warehouse to be up 24/7. This is expensive and wasteful. What if you could spin up an ephemeral data warehouse only when your agent needs it, and get real-time data at the same time? The solution: Polynya replicates your data into Iceberg, and gives your agent an ephemeral ClickHouse instance on demand. Polynya also provides persistent workspaces — collections of views that survive across sessions. So from your agent's point of view, it's a…

What it does

Polynya replicates your data into Iceberg, and gives your agent an ephemeral ClickHouse instance on demand. Polynya also provides persistent workspaces — collections of views that survive across sessions. So from your agent's point of view, it's a 24/7 data warehouse. It's currently free on early access, so do try it out and give me any feedback! Currently there is no web dashboard yet (coming soon), you interact with it 100% through CLI.

Polynya streams Postgres to Iceberg every 30 seconds. Your AI agents get ephemeral ClickHouse on demand. Build persistent workspaces with views that compound over time. Free during early access.

Hey HN! We're Hoshang & Vishal, the team behind Pylar - a governed access layer between databases and LLMs. We previously led data and AI and we kept seeing the same problem across teams using LLMs internally: agents are great with unstructured data, but the moment you want them touching your actual systems of record — Snowflake, Postgres, CRMs, product DBs — everything becomes fragile, risky, or outright unsafe. Two issues show up every single time: 1. Agents over-querying They don’t understand cost. They’ll happily generate queries that blow up your warehouse bill. 2. Accidental data…

Hey HN! I'm Connor, creator of Replicas. I'm a heavy Codex/Claude Code user, and I wanted to hand off tasks to agents like I would to an engineer - kick something off before work, let it scaffold while I'm at lunch, even come back to a ready PR. The problem: existing alternatives use workspace VMs that are black boxes. I have no access to any of them - they can't run tests, read logs, or use tools like the Playwright MCP (which I use to verify agents actually fixed what they claim to fix). Replicas gives agents real cloud workspaces where they can: - Run your test suite and read the…

  • With social media and now AI, its important to keep the indie web alive. There are many people who write frequently. Blogosphere tries to highlight them by fetching the recent posts from personal blogs across many categories. There are two versions: Minimal (HN-inspired, fast, static): https://text.blogosphere.app/ Non-minimal: https://blogosphere.app/ If you don't find your blog (or your favorite ones), please add them.
