What it does
I wrote twenty novels about a club where strangers send each other postcards. Then I built it. Free, no account, no ads. Over 2,000 original cards; write on the back and it arrives as a link. Club members (also free) get a card every morning from Henry, who runs the fictional version, and can date a card for any morning up to a year ahead. Try the weather card. The books pay for all of it.

Pick a card off the rack and write on the back. Email it to them, or take a link and send it however you like. No sign-up, no waiting. It turns up looking like something a person made, because it is. Three steps, in this order, because the order is the whole thing. Every card is ours, drawn for this rack. You can't upload your own, which is deliberate and keeps the place pleasant. 240 characters, same as a real card. The limit is the point. Short notes get written, long ones get abandoned. Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
