Posterity Automations – Get things done from the afterlife
Hey there HN – I'm Mohamed, CEO here at Posterity. I've seen a lot of threads lately discussing how stuff can be transferred safely to significant others and spouses. A key aspect of that transfer is often timing, and the ability to only disclose information if and when necessary. This is basically what Automations are about; web-hooks triggered in the event something happens, and which can serve as a reliable signal because we verify every death manually. Today, it's available via IFTTT (https://ifttt.com/posterity), and we'll be launching standard HTTP web-hooks very soon as…

In plain words
Posterity Automations enables users to set up automated actions triggered after their death, with timing controlled by the user. The service verifies deaths manually and sends webhooks to external services, allowing information to be disclosed to beneficiaries only when necessary. Available through IFTTT integration with standard HTTP webhooks coming soon, it serves people who want to arrange the transfer of digital assets and information to spouses and significant others after they pass away.

Right now, each card costs me about $20 each, but with only a bit more scale, I think I can get that down to $10. In doing this project, I learned how to design electronics and circuit boards. I learned Rust and wrote my first driver, I upped my CAD skills, 3D printed, and did my first resin casting. I generated the images on the…
