QuantizeLab — GGUF in minutes

Run any LLM locally — quantize Hugging Face models to GGUF

QuantizeLab — GGUF in minutes launched on July 31, 2026 with 1 votes.

What it does

Want to run Llama, Mistral, or Qwen on your laptop? You need a quantized GGUF and making one takes a GPU, hours, and expertise most people don't have. QuantizeLab does it in minutes. Paste your model URL, pick a format, hit submit. A managed GPU converts it and pushes the output directly to your Hugging Face account. ✓ No GPU needed on your end ✓ Your weights, your repo we never store them ✓ Credits model: pay once, use when you need ✓ 10 free credits on signup

Convert Hugging Face models to GGUF, AWQ, GPTQ, or EXL2 on managed GPUs. Output pushed to your own HF repo. 10 free credits on signup.

Paste any Hugging Face repo, get a ready-to-run GGUF pushed back to your own HF account. No Colab, no environment setup, no broken PyTorch deps. 10 credits free on signup · jobs from $0.50 · no card required A model isn't useful until it runs on the hardware you have. We close that last mile. Outputs push to your Hugging Face account. We don't retain, resell, or gate your models. Prepaid credits, spend per job, refunded on failure. No subscriptions, no seats, no vendor trap. Paste any Hugging Face model URL. We resolve it, size it, and show you the cost instantly. Your job runs on a managed GPU worker. No queues, no setup, no idle cost. The quantized model lands in your own Hugging Face…from quantizelab.dev

Hi HN! I'm just sharing a project I've been working on during the LLM Efficiency Challenge - you can now finetune Llama with QLoRA 5x faster than Huggingface's original implementation on your own local GPU. Some highlights: 1. Manual autograd engine - hand derived backprop steps. 2. QLoRA / LoRA 80% faster, 50% less memory. 3. All kernels written in OpenAI's Triton language. 4. 0% loss in accuracy - no approximation methods - all exact. 5. No change of hardware necessary. Supports NVIDIA GPUs since 2018+. CUDA 7.5+. 6. Flash Attention support via Xformers. 7. Supports 4bit and 16bit…

Try it out! https://glhf.chat/ Hey HN! We’ve been working for the past few months on a website to let you easily run (almost) any open-source LLM on autoscaling GPU clusters. It’s free for now while we figure out how to price it, but we expect to be cheaper than most GPU offerings since we can run the models multi-tenant. Unlike Together AI, Fireworks, etc, we’ll run any model that the open-source vLLM project supports: we don’t have a hardcoded list. If you want a specific model or finetune, you don’t have to ask us for it: you can just paste the Hugging Face link in and…

  • Getting GLM 5.2 running on my slow computerJul 2026 · github.com · ▲937

A few days ago I found myself trying out GLM 5.2 and was really positively impressed. The capabilities and security I was getting from this LLM are similar to those I've gotten from models like Claude or GPT, and this really surprised me. But then I thought, "I wonder how it would work on a normal computer like mine," and above all, "I wonder if it would work without going into OOM on a computer like mine." So I started working with the help of agents to test this possibility. I started converting the model to int4, understanding MTP usage, and if possible implementing DSA for long context.…

Working on Mac, Linux, and Windows now. I include a simple GUI to find new models and get things built and set up. It is working quite well across a few models for me. The GitHub README and DESIGN.md files go into detail of the how/why and it's working remarkably well so far. https://github.com/notactuallytreyanastasio/shoehorn

  • Finetune LLaMA-7B on commodity GPUs using your own text2023 · github.com · ▲449

I've been playing around with https://github.com/zphang/minimal-llama/ and https://github.com/tloen/alpaca-lora/blob/main/finetune.py, and wanted to create a simple UI where you can just paste text, tweak the parameters, and finetune the model quickly using a modern GPU. To prepare the data, simply separate your text with two blank lines. There's an inference tab, so you can test how the tuned model behaves. This is my first foray into the world of LLM finetuning, Python, Torch, Transformers, LoRA, PEFT, and Gradio. Enjoy!

  • How I topped the HuggingFace open LLM leaderboard on two gaming GPUsMar 2026 · dnhkng.github.io · ▲495

I found that duplicating a specific block of 7 middle layers in Qwen2-72B, without modifying any weights, improved performance across all Open LLM Leaderboard benchmarks and took #1. As of 2026, the top 4 models on that leaderboard are still descendants. The weird finding: single-layer duplication does nothing. Too few layers, nothing. Too many, it gets worse. Only circuit-sized blocks of ~7 layers work. This suggests pretraining carves out discrete functional circuits in the layer stack that only work when preserved whole. The whole thing was developed on 2x RTX 4090s in my basement. I'm…

I might be the only SRE on Earth with his own bowling center. It's a more in-depth gig than you'd think. My family and I bought an abandoned 8-lane bowling center in the rural mid-west. In our small town there weren't many recreation options for families. You've heard of a food desert? This is an R&R desert. It had been abandoned for a good reason. The roof leaks, the electrical system was constantly surging, and my 70-year-old bowling equipment (still) doesn't work perfectly. The system that keeps your score is particularly interesting to me. It's the thing you watch during your game, but…

Over the past few months, our team has been building more and more slidedecks using web frontend technologies with coding harnesses like Claude Code, but a common complaint is to make even small edits we need to edit the code either manually or via the harness. To avoid this loop, I ended up creating Bento, a single HTML file with everything you need in a slide tool including animations and shared editing. There's no install or cloud login, everything works offline. The default deck is around 560 KB and it doesn't need to fetch anything once you got it. Open it in a browser and then you can…

Hello! For the last 2 months, I've been building OpenSEO. It's a user friendly UI wrapping the DataForSEO API which has high quality SEO data for keywords, backlinks, AI SEO and competitor research. Instead of paying $100+ per month, you buy DataForSEO credits and pay only for usage. The coolest thing about the project so far has been hearing about what people are building on top of it. People are using coding agents to quickly integrate with Google Search Console, Google Ads and building their own AI SEO and reporting features. Many were already building their own custom solutions around…
