QuickAudit
10-point OWASP web security checklist in 1 click
What it does
Run a 10-point OWASP-style security check on any page in 5 seconds. Inspects transport security, CSP, cookie flags, mixed content, exposed sensitive files, and OSV-backed library CVEs. 100% free, privacy-first, and runs locally.
One-click OWASP-style security checklist for the page in your browser tab. Ten checks: headers, cookie flags, mixed content, exposed files, and JS libraries with known CVEs via OSV.dev. Chrome, Edge, Firefox. - BAB78/quickaudit
A one-click OWASP-style security checklist for the page in your browser tab. Ten checks, pass/fail, in about a fifth of a second. Runs on Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, and Firefox from one source tree. A Safari build exists but is unverified — see BROWSERS.md . Not a scanner. No payloads, no crawling, no exploitation. It's the checklist you run first so a real assessment isn't full of trivia. git clone https://github.com/BAB78/quickaudit && cd quickaudit node tools/make-icons.mjs # generates icons/ node tools/build.mjs # generates build/{chrome,firefox,safari}/ Chrome / Edge / Brave / Opera / Vivaldi — chrome://extensions → Developer mode → Load unpacked → select build/chrome Firefox…from github.com

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
