What it does
QymCAD is a desktop parametric CAD for parts and assemblies: enclosures, brackets, mechanisms. A sketch becomes a solid via extrude, revolve or sweep; the solid gets holes, fillets, a shell, patterns. Parts form assemblies through joints - revolute, slider, rigid. Geometry is exact (B-rep), computed by the OpenCASCADE kernel - the same one FreeCAD runs on. STEP and STL exchange. No subscription, no cloud. Open source (AGPL-3.0), builds for Windows, Linux, macOS.

The document format changes with no backward compatibility — a file from an earlier version may not open. The CNC (CAM) module does not work. I made OwnTime to balance between competing priorities in my life. The idea is based on two main influences: the concept of "roles" from "The 5 Choices" (2015), and my repeated failure to effectively implement time blocking due to the necessary flexibility in my role. The app allows you to define time budgets, which are not much more than a few mutually exclusive countdown timers.
