Q12 is a new web-based 2D parametric drawing tool built specifically for geometric problem solving, for playing interactive "what if" games with drawings, and for the design and optimization of mechanisms. Q12 has the usual set of drawing constraints found in other CAD tools (e.g. "lines are parallel") but also supports inequality constraints, area constraints, and arbitrary expressions between geometric quantities. We built Q12 to solve problems like those below, after finding that existing CAD systems couldn't handle them well: * Given dimensions on a surveyor's map, figure out if the…

I'd like to share a new workbench I've been working on called DiffCAD. Coming from a software engineering background, not having the ability to properly diff my CAD model changes was driving me crazy. This project scratches my own itch, and maybe someone elses', too! I'm open to feedback, ideas, and contributions. Cheers!

This is a little toy project of mine that lets you simulate digital logic graphs. It was inspired by Minecraft's Redstone and the Piet esolang. It's got some serious drawbacks-- you write circuits as PNGs and simulate them with a Python interface. It's slow to run and slow to experiment with. And it is certainly difficult to use for people with any kind of color blindness. But despite that, I hope this can still be a fun toy!

My friend and I have been working on Arcad for some months now. It's a free browser-based parametric CAD tool aimed at hobbyists and makers. It has editable feature history, solid modeling powered by OpenCascade, STEP export and touch controls for tablets, although it's primarily made for PC use. Everything runs in the browser and you can try it without creating an account or installing anything. Currently in beta although we feel like it's ready for a full launch. Any feedback is appreciated! Link: https://app.arcad.studio Docs: https://www.arcad.studio/docs

I had a hard time figuring out CAD software like Fusion, OnShape, etc., and decided to go about making my own CAD modeling software that I can "program" my models similar to how I think about them in my head. I used Cursor to write like 95+% of this, giving it my YAML examples and making it implement the actual code to make those work. Currently 100% self-hosted, and it is just a static HTML/CSS/JS, so it might just work without running npm at all. Very few features working currently, basically just modeling a few primitive solids, and boolean operations.
