Real Sleep Calculator
Sleep smarter. Wake refreshed. Live better.
What it does
Real Sleep Calculator helps you find better bedtimes, wake-up times, and nap schedules based on your sleep goals. Calculate ideal sleep and wake times, understand your sleep cycles, and build a healthier sleep routine. Simple, free, and designed to help you sleep smarter, wake up feeling refreshed, and make the most of your day.
Use our REM sleep calculator to calculate 90-minute sleep cycles and align with your circadian rhythm. Find when to sleep or wake up refreshed every morning.
Optimize your sleep by aligning bedtimes with natural 90-minute sleep cycles. Minimize grogginess, maximize energy. A good night's sleep isn't just about total hours. It's about waking up at the right moment. During the night, your brain moves through stages of light sleep, deep sleep, and REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. Each full journey through these stages takes roughly 90 minutes and repeats multiple times throughout the night. Waking up in the middle of a sleep cycle (especially during deep sleep) triggers sleep inertia —that heavy, groggy feeling that can linger for hours. Waking up at the end of a cycle, when you are naturally in light sleep, makes you feel instantly alert. Most…from realsleepcalculator.com

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
