RepoIQ
After years of struggling with onboarding to new projects, I got tired of spending weeks just trying to grasp the basics of a codebase. The README rarely tells the whole story, and "just read the code" isn't practical for large repos. I built RepoIQ to create personalized learning paths through any GitHub repository. It analyzes the codebase structure, identifies key components, and creates a step-by-step guide tailored to your learning needs.
RepoIQ launched on April 27, 2025 with 15 votes, #1,637 of 7,818 launches that month and more than 75% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.
What it does
Scrolling folders and grepping for clues is old news. RepoIQ makes your repo a conversation partner: open the chat, ask plain-English questions, and get answers with file references, mini diagrams, and concise, human-sounding explanations.

GitPodcast2025 · gitpodcast.com · ▲308Understanding any GitHub repository is tough, especially a big one - this project aims to make it a tad bit easier by giving the listener a primer + some details on the specific repository. For some people (like me) - audio/visual medium is more easily understandable. So, I hope this project is helpful to some of them. This project was inspired by https://gitdiagram.com - so check it out as well, and maybe use them together for better understanding. Future plans: 1. To add more voices and let users choose most natural one (decide between OpenAI/Microsoft Speech) 2. Custom…
Repo2vec – an open-source library for chatting with any codebase2024 · github.com · ▲93Hi HN, We're excited to share repo2vec: a simple-to-use, modular library enabling you to chat with any public or private codebase. It's like Github Copilot but with the most up-to-date information about your repo. We made this because sometimes you just want to learn how a codebase works and how to integrate it, without spending hours sifting through the code itself. We tried to make it dead-simple to use. With two scripts, you can index and get a functional interface for your repo. Every generated response shows where in the code the context for the answer was pulled from. We also made it…

Talanoa▲340Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

Hi everyone, I built PyXL — a hardware processor that executes a custom assembly generated from Python programs, without using a traditional interpreter or virtual machine. It compiles Python -> CPython Bytecode -> Instruction set designed for direct hardware execution. I’m sharing an early benchmark: a GPIO test where PyXL achieves a 480ns round-trip toggle — compared to 14-25 micro seconds on a MicroPython Pyboard - even though PyXL runs at a lower clock (100MHz vs. 168MHz). The design is stack-based, fully pipelined, and preserves Python's dynamic typing without static type restrictions.…
