Resolv

Hey HN, I'm launching Resolv, an AI-powered IDE built on the premise that's increasingly unpopular in the industry: generative models do not think, they only simulate reasoning. They are incredible at exploring possibilities, surfacing context, and amplifying human judgment—but the moment we let them make decisions, we get misalignment, subtle bugs, and architectural drift. Most AI coding tools today pretend that the model can reason autonomously. They rush to output code, hide tradeoffs, and quietly make hundreds of micro-decisions on your behalf. Resolv does the opposite: it refuses to…

What it does

LLMs write functions but cannot truly reason. Most AI coding tools hallucinate logic, miss dependencies, and push fragile code by faking understanding. Resolv’s core is the Supervisor: it scans your full codebase, surfaces ambiguities, tradeoffs, edge cases, and open questions, then forces you to resolve them before any plan exists. Only after approval: Planner → strict blueprint → Executor (follows exactly) → Auditor. No rogue AI. Full control. Try it: resolv.sh Feedback: [email protected]

The first agentic IDE for developers.

Generative models simulate reasoning, they don't possess it. Resolv is the workspace that demands your critical thinking, forcing you to define the logic, trade-offs, and architecture before the AI writes a single line of code. Don't replace your judgment; amplify it. User has now validated remaining open nodes: bundle Rust CLI in all desktop installers and obtain it via downloading prebuilt artifacts; macOS DMG tool will be electron-installer dmg added to root devDependencies; native indexing addon should be shipped as an npm module inside the app... In software, asking isn't weakness. It's the only way to avoid building the wrong thing. Most agents rush to code. Resolv breaks development…from resolv.sh

Hi HN, I am Jiayuan, and I'm here to introduce a tool we've been building over the past few months: Devv (https://devv.ai). In simple terms, it is an AI-powered search engine specifically designed for developers. Now, you might ask, with so many AI search engines already available—Perplexity, You.com, Phind, and several open-source projects—why do we need another one? We all know that Generative Search Engines are built on RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation)[1] combined with Large Language Models (LLMs). Most of the products mentioned above use indexes from general search engines…

Hey HN! After the Car Wash Test post got quite a big discussion going (400+ comments, https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=47128138), I spent the past few weeks building a tool so anyone can run these kinds of questions and get structured results. No signup and free to use. You type a question, define answer options, pick up to 50 models at a time from a pool of 200+, and they all answer independently under identical conditions. No system prompt, structured output, same setup for every model. You can also run a debate round where models see each other's reasoning and get a…

I've been exploring the (not so=) amazing potential of AI in coding and have compiled a list of tools. From AI-powered IDEs to code generators, this resource is my contribution to the community. I'm still on the fence about including txt2sql projects, as their functionality seems too basic to me. And I'm personally maintaining this, so your feedback is wellcome.

  • Hello my name is Ben Ward for the past 3 years I have been remastering the financial game Wall Street Raider created by Michael Jenkins originally on DOS in 1986. It has been a rough journey but I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just recently redid the website and thought maybe the full story of how this project came to be would interest you all. Thank you for reading.
