Restless to RESTful - are we doing it right?

Following on our previous discussion on HN [1], we've gone ahead and implemented a REST interface for our online fax service, where we previously only had a SOAP API. Documentation [2] is 90% complete, so this might be a good time to get your feedback if we're doing it right. As always, brutal honesty appreciated! -------------- [1] http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=3467287 [2] http://www.interfax.net/en/dev/rest/reference

    Intercept.rest – Faster API debugging2018 · ▲89

Sharing an internal tool that accelerated my development work 10-fold, especially with API debugging. Thought fellow developers here might find it useful. As a developer, I often have trouble reproducing errors at the client end. https://intercept.rest lets me debug and monitor API requests and responses. It is similar to the Network tab in Chrome Developer Tools but works for any API: mobile apps, webhooks, frontend etc. After I shared it with a close circle of friends, they found it incredibly useful and even found new use cases, I never imagined. Been a long time lurker here and…

    I've built a REST Test client in my spare time2012 · wcfstorm.com · ▲11

Hi HN,<p>In my spare time (evenings and weekends) I've built 3 products which have been relatively successful even with little advertising (only google ads budgeted at $30 per day). The latest one is WcfStorm.Rest; which is a REST service test client. I built it because I found that the current tools did not have the features I wanted such as, intellisense when working with HTTP headers, syntax highlighting for JSON messages, etc.<p>I'm continually trying to improve these products and would very much love get your feedback. Every suggestion is welcome!<p>(My apologies…

    Get latest replies to an HN user2022 · github.com · ▲42

Hi HN, I hacked a simple service for gathering HN replies and organizing them by the parent's username. The main idea is to be able to efficiently get the latest replies to an HN user. For example, you can use this service to send yourself notifications when some replies to you on HN. The service queries the official HN API and can be self-hosted. It is basically ~30 lines of Bash script. I made this mostly for educational purposes -- thought you might find it useful for something. Cheers! Edit: for example, here are the latest replies to me [0]. It includes only recent replies, since I…
