Retune – the missing frontend for GPT-3

Hey everyone! We launched re:tune today to help builders build complex apps on top of GPT-3. With re:tune, you can do things like: - turn any prompt into a chatbot - get API to integrate into your app - create custom fine-tuned models from your (large) dataset - modify your data and tweak parameters to get personalized output. - write a prompt once, and generate variable responses with our variables editor. You can think of this as a supercharged frontend for GPT-3, along with newer langchain techniques. As next step, we are building out features to publish and monetize your LLM apps, feed…

In plain words

Retune is a frontend for GPT-3 that enables developers to build complex applications without extensive coding. It allows users to convert prompts into chatbots, generate APIs for app integration, create fine-tuned models from datasets, and adjust parameters for personalized outputs. The platform includes a variables editor for generating multiple responses from a single prompt. Retune targets builders and developers working with large language models who need tools to prototype, customize, and deploy AI-powered applications.

In the maker’s words, at launch

Hey everyone! We launched re:tune today to help builders build complex apps on top of GPT-3. With re:tune, you can do things like: - turn any prompt into a chatbot - get API to integrate into your app - create custom fine-tuned models from your (large) dataset - modify your data and tweak parameters to get personalized output. - write a prompt once, and generate variable responses with our variables editor. You can think of this as a supercharged frontend for GPT-3, along with newer langchain techniques. As next step, we are building out features to publish and monetize your LLM apps, feed external data with embeddings, connect your chatbots with internet and composing multiple prompts / chatbots to build complex workflows. These features are still very early alpha, and hidden behind flags but I would love to connect with adventurers in this space and iron things out together! We are still embarrassingly early, but removed the waitlist for today. Have fun breaking things! We are also live on product hunt: https://producthunt.com/posts/re-tune

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

  • Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…

This works suprisingly well. Just give it instructions like "make it winter" or "remove the cars" and the photo is altered. Here are some examples of transformations it can make: Golden gate bridge: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/brycedrennan/imaginAIry/ma... Girl with a pearl earring: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/brycedrennan/imaginAIry/ma... I integrated this new InstructPix2Pix model into imaginAIry (python library) so it's easy to use for python developers.

The project is called QueryStorm. It uses Roslyn to offer C# (and VB.NET) support in Excel, as an alternative to VBA. I've posted about it before, but a lot has changed since then so figured I'd share an update. The current version includes a host of new features, namely a C# debugger, support for NuGet packages, and the ability to publish Excel extensions to an "AppStore" (which is essentially a NuGet repository). The AppStore can be used by anyone with the (free) runtime component. Another great addition is the community license, which is a free license for individuals and small companies…

Hey HN! Some more info: I’m an NHS doctor and the founder of Pi-A (https://www.pi-a.io) which developed Lungy (https://www.lungy.app). Lungy is an app (iOS only for now) that responds to breathing in real-time and was designed to make breathing exercises more engaging and beneficial to do. It hopefully has many aspects of interest to the HN community – real-time fluid, cloth and soft body sims running on the phone’s GPU. My background is as a junior surgical trainee and I started building Lungy in 2020 during the first COVID lockdown in London. During COVID, there were…
