Ritt – Tag-centric file manager
Hello HN! I am very excited to introduce Ritt, the tag-centric file manager. Tags are excellent for managing images, videos and documents, yet most file managers implement tagging functionalities as an afterthought. Not so with Ritt. Ritt is an acronym for Representation of Independent Tag Trees. As the name suggests, tags are front and center in Ritt. Ritt is designed to allow for fast and efficient batch tagging of files (and folders). Drill down to your desired files by intersecting and/or excluding tags. In plain words
Ritt is a file manager that prioritizes tags as its primary organizational system rather than traditional folder structures. It enables users to quickly batch-tag files and folders, then filter results by combining or excluding tags with logical operations. The tool supports syncing tags across devices, includes AI-powered auto-tagging for images, offers advanced search capabilities, and features a built-in preview tool for videos. It is designed for anyone managing large collections of images, videos, and documents who prefer tag-based organization.

Ritt is a tag-centric file manager that serves as a Digital Asset Management solution. It can help you effortlessly manage your images, videos and documents.
Tag any file or folder with just one click. Select multiple files to batch tag. Create Ritt tags from file keywords (also called tags in File Explorer). Write Ritt tags as keywords to supported file formats. Automatically applies the most relevant potential tags to selected image files. This is done locally - your files never leave your machine. Intersect and exclude tags to quickly drill down to what you seek. Advanced search that supports combining tags with logical operations (AND, OR, NOT) and filters like file size and date…from ritt.app
