Rocal – Full-stack WASM framework

A full-stack WebAssembly framework in Rust. Contribute to rocal-dev/rocal development by creating an account on GitHub.

Rocal – Full-stack WASM framework launched on April 16, 2025 with 5 votes and more than 75% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.

What it does

Rocal is Full-Stack WASM framework that can be used to build fast and robust web apps thanks to high performance of WebAssembly and Rust's typing system and smart memory management. Rocal adopts MVC(Model-View-Controller) architecture, so if you are not familiarized with the architecture, we highly recommend learning the architecture first before using Rocal. That's the essential part to make your application with Rocal effectively. fn run ( ) { migrate ! ( "db/migrations" ) ; route ! { get "/hello-world" => { controller : HelloWorldController , action : index , view : HelloWorldView } } } // ... in HelloWorldController impl Controller for HelloWorldController { type View = UserView ; } # […from github.com

"Game" is a stretch, but I put together this repo containing a pure Rust app which uses SDL2 and compiles to WASM (and can be run in a browser). Older resources were a bit out of date and a bit too verbose for my purposes, so here's a minimal working example.

  • Sandboxing untrusted code using WebAssemblyFeb 2026 · github.com · ▲76

Hi everyone, I built a runtime to isolate untrusted code using wasm sandboxes. Basically, it protects your host system from problems that untrusted code can cause. We’ve had a great discussion about sandboxing in Python lately that elaborates a bit more on the problem [1]. In TypeScript, wasm integration is even more natural thanks to the close proximity between both ecosystems. The core is built in Rust. On top of that, I use WASI 0.2 via wasmtime and the component model, along with custom SDKs that keep things as idiomatic as possible. For example, in Python we have a simple decorator:…

Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

  • Hi everyone, I built PyXL — a hardware processor that executes a custom assembly generated from Python programs, without using a traditional interpreter or virtual machine. It compiles Python -> CPython Bytecode -> Instruction set designed for direct hardware execution. I’m sharing an early benchmark: a GPIO test where PyXL achieves a 480ns round-trip toggle — compared to 14-25 micro seconds on a MicroPython Pyboard - even though PyXL runs at a lower clock (100MHz vs. 168MHz). The design is stack-based, fully pipelined, and preserves Python's dynamic typing without static type restrictions.…
