RTSP.KZ
Turn any IP camera into a browser-viewable stream in 5 min
What it does
RTSP.KZ converts RTSP streams from IP cameras (Hikvision, Dahua, Uniview) into browser-friendly HLS links. Built for Kazakhstan manufacturers who need online video surveillance for government compliance (e-ondiris.gov.kz registry). Supports cameras behind NAT via WireGuard VPN tunnels. No transcoding — just remuxing, so one server handles dozens of streams without GPU. Setup takes 5 minutes. Free 1-hour trial included.

I love Streamlit but have run into many situation where taking it from PoC to MVP state is insurmountable. With all the recent HN hype around htmx and sematic html / classless css I decided to build a Streamlit alternative using these on top of FastAPI. This has a couple advantages: 1) easier to extend when you move past PoC since the FastAPI app is exposed (allowing adding more routes) and hstream acts more like a typical web stack 2) with htmx and html (plus MVP.css) doing the heavy lifting the package is alot less complex and easier to reason about - and hopefully more performant…

It took me a few years of fits and starts but I've finally got my DIY persistence of vision bike light to display video! I designed and built the PCB for it and wrote the code for the wifi streaming of video frames with a bit of help from Claude. This was actually one thing I was dreading as I was hitting a wall being burned out on this project. With a little bit of Claude's help in getting the ESP32 wifi stack working It's finally finished! Some tech specs: Using an ESP32 42 LED's per strip, 4 strips total spaced 90 deg apart. Angular resolution of the image is 1 deg so it updates all 168…
