Ruby

Hey there, My name is Thomas and I am a solopreneur. One day I realized I was paying for a lot of services I was no longer using, and I kept receiving those "You've been charged..." notifications. Sounds familiar? So I built Ruby, a web application that warns me right before trials are about to end or subscriptions are about to be charged. I've been using it personally and I've noticed 2 big changes in my spending: -37% reduction in monthly recurring costs -I get to explore a lot more SaaS projects without the fear of forgetting to cancel them I hope Ruby is as helpful to you as it is for…

What it does

Tired of surprise charges from forgotten subscriptions? So was I. That’s why I built Ruby. Ruby helps you track all your subscriptions in one place, from Netflix and Spotify to SaaS products. Ruby sends you reminders so you're never caught off guard again.

Hey HN! I've been working on a Ruby On Rails SaaS template as my primary side project for the last month, it's name is Locomotive. https://www.locomotive.it.com/ Locomotive offers: 1. Stripe subscriptions and webhooks set-up 2. Devise authentication 3. PostgreSQL database 4. Prebuilt components and pages with TailwindCSS Locomotive is pretty simple that's why I price it just for €50 (or a bit more than $50)

Hey HN! Pilots everywhere are required to keep a logbook of all their flying hours, aircraft, airports, and so on. Since I track everything digitally (some people still just use paper logbooks!), I put together some data visualizations and a few 3D globes to show my flying history. This globe is probably my favourite so far: https://jameshard.ing/pilot/globes/all If you’ve got ideas for other graphs or ways to show this kind of data, I’d love to hear them!

  • I was the main contributor to workout.lol, an open-source fitness app to easily build a workout routine. The project had traction (1.4k GitHub stars, 95 forks, ~20K visits/month), but was eventually sold due to video licensing hurdles. The new owner stopped maintaining it, and the repo went abandoned. Over the next 9 months, I sent 15 emails to try to save it : no replies. Feature requests & issues were ignored. The community was left with a "broken" tool let's say. I couldn't just let it die So I built the new version from scratch with the same open-source spirit, but a better…
