ScanKeeper
Every loyalty card, offline and account-free
What it does
Klarna replaced Stocard with an app that wants an account before it will show you a supermarket barcode. ScanKeeper is the boring alternative: scan a card or import an old screenshot, and it opens full-screen in one tap, at full brightness, offline. No account, no email, no ads, no advertising SDKs. Folders, search and home screen widgets when you need them. iPhone, iPad and Android, in 39 languages.
Save loyalty cards, QR codes, tickets, and barcodes in one offline wallet. Import screenshots, organize folders, and open any code in one tap on iPhone or Android.
ScanKeeper turns plastic loyalty cards and forgotten screenshots into one tidy, offline wallet. Scan a code, import it from Photos, and pull it up in seconds. No signal? Your cards still open. Ready to scan at full brightness. Live in both app stores. Independently listed by Apple and Google. From a grocery checkout to a gym door, ScanKeeper keeps saved codes easy to find, easy to read, and available without a connection. Capture QR, EAN, UPC, PDF417, Data Matrix, Aztec, Code 128, and more with the camera. Turn an existing photo or screenshot into a reusable card without rescanning the original. Group Shopping, Travel, Work, memberships, and tickets, then swipe between collections. Your…from scankeeper.app

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
