Shades SCSS

A Sass boilerplate for creating & customizing themes quickly

Shades SCSS launched on January 12, 2018 with 1 votes. The site was still online in September 2026, 8 years on.

What it does

ShadesSCSS is a light weight, very easy to use Sass boilerplate. All you have to do is set basic values for configuration and compile to create a new theme. ShadesSCSS doesnt get in your way. It gives you just enough to get going and leaves you to go crazy with your designs 🕺

You are using an outdated browser. Please upgrade your browser to improve your experience and security. Shades is built primarily with Sass. Sass helps extend CSS by making available, useful programming concepts that helps build scalable, modular CSS designs. Grunt is a Javascript based task runner and an essential part of Shades. Its used to carry out several pre-processing and post-processing tasks on important files. If you have no interest in setting up and configuring shades, you may just include the default Shades css and use as is. Its light weight (approximately 42kb), has a lot to get you going and at thesame time doesnt get in your way. <link rel="stylesheet"…from ojanti.github.io

It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
