What it does
Silsilah: Family Tree is a private family-tree app for your phone. Build your tree, add photos, and keep everything on your device — no account, no cloud, no tracking. Try the builder right in your browser.
Private, offline family tree app for iOS, Mac & Android. Build your genealogy, compare family resemblances, and import or export GEDCOM with zero cloud tracking.
Build your family tree one relative at a time - with no account, no servers, and nothing that leaves your phone unless you send it. Scroll to see how it grows. Create your profile - the single seed at the centre of everything that grows from here. No sign-up, no email, no password to forget. Parents, children, a spouse, siblings and the relatives further out - a few taps each, and they are rooted beside you with the relationship spelled out. Not everyone who matters is a blood relative. Add the people around your family as their own kind of link, without tangling the bloodline. Generations arrange themselves into a clean, balanced diagram. Gold rings mark marriages, soft lines trace descent…from silsilah-familytree.com

I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…
