Simple Step Counter
Hey, when I was looking for a new step counter app I noticed to my surprise that I couldn't find any that I liked. I just wanted something simple. Something without bloat. Everything seemed either full of junk, low quality or expensive. So I build my own step counter app for Android focused on minimalism. People really like it so I'd like to keep improving it. The challenge is to improve it without making it too cluttered. It's easy to just add features but it needs to stay minimalist. I'd love to hear your feedback.

Steps: Workout & PedometerMar 2026 · getsteps.app · ▲98Hey HN, I'm a solo developer and I built Steps: Workout & Pedometer, an iOS pedometer and workout tracker. Last week, two German iOS publications wrote about the app. I didn't pitch them. I didn't send a press release. I didn't even know it was happening. I woke up to a spike in downloads, checked the analytics, and traced it back to their articles. That coverage pushed the app past $1,000 in sales. I still have no idea how they found the app. I'm wondering if anyone here has experience getting featured in publications, whether organically or through outreach. What worked for you? Any tips…

Just Log2025 · justlog.app · ▲359Hi HN, I built Just Log after getting frustrated with fitness apps that were too complex for basic workout tracking. Most apps have social feeds, complicated interfaces, and features I never used. Just Log focuses on the essentials: quick workout logging, habit formation, and progress tracking without the bloat. Built it in a month while sharing the process publicly on Twitter. The app uses a minimalist approach - you can log a complete workout in seconds. No social features, no notifications, just simple tracking that helps build consistency. Launched on Product Hunt today. Android is live…

Some of the supported features: Streaks based, track and beat your longest streaks Fully useable offline Freezes (similar to Duolingo's streak freezes) Visual map for tracking consistency Pause the app when you need a break or will be away For anyone curious about the tech stack: - React for frontend - Dexie cloud for storage and syncing - Vercel for hosting Link:…

Hey HN! I wanted to share something I built over the last few weeks: isometric.nyc is a massive isometric pixel art map of NYC, built with nano banana and coding agents. I didn't write a single line of code. Of course no-code doesn't mean no-engineering. This project took a lot more manual labor than I'd hoped! I wrote a deep dive on the workflow and some thoughts about the future of AI coding and creativity: http://cannoneyed.com/projects/isometric-nyc
