Slingcode

Live-reloading web IDE to make, run, and share web apps p2p.

Slingcode launched on June 23, 2020 with 14 votes, #993 of 4,317 launches that month and more than 50% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 6 years on.

What it does

Slingcode is an online editor to make, run, and share web apps peer-to-peer. It's fiercely independent running completely in the browser with no server components.

Personal computing platform. Make, run, and share web apps.

Slingcode is a personal computing platform in a single html file . Or right-click on slingcode.html and "save link as" to download the HTML file onto your own computer. There is no server component for Slingcode. The apps are stored in the web browser's local storage, completely offline. You can move apps between browsers by using the peer-to-peer send and receive feature. You can also export an app as a zip file and import it into another Slingcode instance, or upload your app onto regular web hosting to deploy it online. Remember when computers were fun? When a kid could type out a BASIC listing from a magazine and make magic with light and sound. When your computer belonged to you and…from slingcode.net
