Somleng

What it does

Somleng is the world's only Open Source Telco-as-a-service (TaaS) and Cloud-communications-as-a-service (CPaaS). With the support of UNICEF, we're helping to save lives by reaching some of the most remote and vulnerable communities around the world.

Somleng is the world's only Open Source Telco-as-a-Service (TaaS) and Communications-Platform-as-a-Service (CPaaS). With the support of UNICEF, we're helping to save lives by reaching some of the most remote and vulnerable communities around the world. Our vision is a world where communications are accessible to everyone. For business spending too much money on cloud communications, or who want to bring their cloud commuinications infrastructure in-house, Somleng provides the necessary applications and APIs to build on. Somleng is popular with NGOs and development organizations especially in countries where the price of terminating voice calls and SMS is expensive. Read about how Somleng is…from somleng.org

We believe that AI should be fully open source and part of the collective knowledge. The original LLaMA code is GPL licensed which means any project using it must also be released under GPL. This "taints" any other code and prevents meaningful academic and commercial use. Lit-LLaMA solves that for good.

Welcome to Project S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y. This is a project that allows anyone to easily build their own self-hosted J.A.R.V.I.S-like voice assistant. In my mind vocal computing is the future of human-computer interaction and by open sourcing this code I hope to expedite us on that path. I have had a blast working on this so far and I'm excited to continue to build with it. It uses whisper.cpp [1], Coqui TTS [2] and OpenAI [3] to do speech-to-text, text-to-text and text-to-speech inference all 100% locally (except for text-to-text). In the future I plan to swap out OpenAI for llama.cpp [4]. It is…

  Talanoa▲346

Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

Hi HN, I’m Kashish, one of the co-founders of SpeedVitals, a platform for testing & monitoring website performance with a major emphasis on Core Web Vitals. Until now, our platform has only focused on Synthetic/Lab testing, such as Lighthouse tests and TTFB tests. But now, we have developed a Real-User Monitoring platform that doubles up as a Web Analytics tool. One major feature we have that most RUM tools lack is Performance Audits. Just like Lighthouse audits work on Lab test data, our audits work across all the real-user visits and gives suggestions on what task to prioritize first.…
