What it does
Hey everyone 👋 I just launched a new website called SoulPak Trails and I’m looking for a small group of hikers to help test it out. It’s a trail finder built to make it easier to discover hikes based on what you’re actually looking for (distance, elevation, type of scenery, etc.). You can also build out your own trail plans, share them with others, check out plans from the community, and see SoulPak community events.

Hi HN! This is a trail companion web app (think AllTrails) I hacked together in a couple weeks time. I was inspired to create this project while training for an extended backpacking trip. My motivation was to create a UI tailored exactly to my liking, and to be able to track my progress along the trail without draining my battery. I also wanted to experiment with PWA technologies. Hey guys, I built a route planner that is mostly focused on bike touring and using existing bike infrastructure. For each request you're shown what bike tracks/trails your route uses and can further explore them by showing them on map or going to the official trail route. The main idea for the app is to have a friendly and easy to use planner that would make heavy use of official bike trails data (mainly from OpenStreetMap) and make it easy to plan a longer trip using the best possible bike routes out there.
