Stack2Flat — Flatten Your Codebase
Flatten your files and give your AI context.
Stack2Flat — Flatten Your Codebase launched on June 5, 2025 with 12 votes, #1,876 of 7,999 launches that month and more than 75% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.
What it does
Stack2Flat flattened a 3gb of files to a single text file in seconds. Flattened files can give AI context. The Pro version has a custom viewer to scan through large text files. The header of the file has a folder tree and natural language instructions.
Flatten your entire folder structure into a single clean text file for AI input.
4GB of source code, super fast. I flattened this app, 500,000+ lines . One clean file. Zero crashes. Stack2Flat was built to help tame the modern AI workflow. Feeding AI file-by-file through the chat window just doesn’t scale. Stack2Flat gives you control. Point to any folder and flatten it. You’ll get one clean file with: Whether you’re prepping a dev stack or your entire server, Stack2Flat makes it one step . We even built a dedicated viewer to handle gigabyte-sized files. It’s not just a flattener — it’s a context delivery system for AI. View instantly in Stack2Viewer . Export clean ranges. Want to try it first? Context GatewayMar 2026 · github.com · ▲220We built an open-source proxy that sits between coding agents (Claude Code, OpenClaw, etc.) and the LLM, compressing tool outputs before they enter the context window. Demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vFZ6MPrwjw#t=9s. Motivation: Agents are terrible at managing context. A single file read or grep can dump thousands of tokens into the window, most of it noise. This isn't just expensive — it actively degrades quality. Long-context benchmarks consistently show steep accuracy drops as context grows (OpenAI's GPT-5.4 eval goes from 97.2% at 32k to 36.6% at 1M…
Chonky – a neural approach for text semantic chunking2025 · github.com · ▲169TLDR: I’ve made a transformer model and a wrapper library that segments text into meaningful semantic chunks. The current text splitting approaches rely on heuristics (although one can use neural embedder to group semantically related sentences). I propose a fully neural approach to semantic chunking. I took the base distilbert model and trained it on a bookcorpus to split concatenated text paragraphs into original paragraphs. Basically it’s a token classification task. Model fine-tuning took day and a half on a 2x1080ti. The library could be used as a text splitter module in a RAG system or…

Hey HN! Pilots everywhere are required to keep a logbook of all their flying hours, aircraft, airports, and so on. Since I track everything digitally (some people still just use paper logbooks!), I put together some data visualizations and a few 3D globes to show my flying history. This globe is probably my favourite so far: https://jameshard.ing/pilot/globes/all If you’ve got ideas for other graphs or ways to show this kind of data, I’d love to hear them!

I was the main contributor to workout.lol, an open-source fitness app to easily build a workout routine. The project had traction (1.4k GitHub stars, 95 forks, ~20K visits/month), but was eventually sold due to video licensing hurdles. The new owner stopped maintaining it, and the repo went abandoned. Over the next 9 months, I sent 15 emails to try to save it : no replies. Feature requests & issues were ignored. The community was left with a "broken" tool let's say. I couldn't just let it die So I built the new version from scratch with the same open-source spirit, but a better…
