StackHound
If you’ve ever explored GitHub repos and felt frustrated by how little you can tell about a project’s real tech stack — you’re not alone. That’s exactly why I built StackHound https://www.producthunt.com/posts/stackhound It goes beyond the GitHub API to scan dependency files and uncover the actual tools, frameworks, and languages a repo uses — whether it's built with React, Next.js, Tailwind, Flask, or Spring Boot. Just drop in a GitHub username and repo to analyze it instantly. You can also use our /api/analyze endpoint to plug it into your own tools. Try the…
StackHound launched on April 28, 2025 with 10 votes, #3,208 of 7,818 launches that month and more than 50% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.
What it does
Analyze GitHub repositories with StackHound to quickly identify the programming languages, frameworks, and tools used in their tech stack.
Analyze public GitHub repositories with StackHound to quickly identify the programming languages, frameworks, and tools used in their tech stack.
Requires a Personal Access Token with the repo scope (or public_repo for public repos only). Manage your tokens securely. You can query the StackHound API directly. The endpoint /api/analyze accepts username and repo query parameters. It analyzes dependency files (like package.json , requirements.txt , etc.) from the GitHub repository and returns the detected technologies. Loading API URL .. . Remember to replace YOUR_USERNAME , YOUR_REPO , and YOUR_GITHUB_TOKEN wherefrom stackhound.vercel.app

GitHiredDec 2025 · githired.tech · ▲360Hey HN - today I’m launching GitHired. A hiring platform that ranks developers based on what they actually build — not what they claim on a PDF. It’s called GitHired, and here’s the core idea: GitHub > Resumes Instead of trusting “proficient in React” bullet points, we analyze a candidate’s actual GitHub: their real tech stack their most complex projects how active they are what kinds of contributions they make which skills match your job description and yes, we detect fake “green square farming.” Why we built this Because engineering hiring is broken. Resumes are inflated. Activity charts…

Introducing GitSage2025 · gitsage.dev · ▲11Hey I'm Adam, I built GitSage because I wanted an easy way to browse code and developers I was unfamiliar with. I had a question about react, and wanted to look into their repo directly, but I wasn't very fluent in JS, and the library is large and complex, how would I know where to start? Or who to ask? That's why I built GitSage, I wanted to be able to ask an AI Agent about a library or project like React, about its technical details, and that the current development looks like. It's still in the early stages, with plans to add GitHub MCP servers within the week. The product is entirely…

Talanoa▲340Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

Hi everyone, I built PyXL — a hardware processor that executes a custom assembly generated from Python programs, without using a traditional interpreter or virtual machine. It compiles Python -> CPython Bytecode -> Instruction set designed for direct hardware execution. I’m sharing an early benchmark: a GPIO test where PyXL achieves a 480ns round-trip toggle — compared to 14-25 micro seconds on a MicroPython Pyboard - even though PyXL runs at a lower clock (100MHz vs. 168MHz). The design is stack-based, fully pipelined, and preserves Python's dynamic typing without static type restrictions.…
