Static blog companion built with Elixir and Phoenix LiveView
I built this after wanting to add comments to my own blog and not finding any good options. Discovering high-quality posts on small personal sites is one of my favorite things about HN.
In plain words
BlogMate is a comment system built with Elixir and Phoenix LiveView designed for static blogs. The creator developed it after struggling to find adequate commenting solutions for their own blog. It enables independent bloggers to add discussions to their posts, making it easier for readers to engage with content on smaller personal sites. The tool targets blog owners who want to foster community interaction without relying on external platforms.

Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…
