Super simple offline app to track yearly goals
How it works - Simply paste your entire message or post into the search box to get the most relevant xkcd for it. No need to search by keywords, etc. I built this tool as a fun project to learn Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) but it turned out to be much more complicated than expected. Humour, in particular xkcd comics, require high levels of intelligence and also relevant knowledge. RAG doesn't actually seem perfectly suitable for it because the retrieval is done using a much simpler model than the latest LLMs. While playing around, I found it to be decent most of the time. Sometimes,…

Turn any website into a knowledge base for LLMs2024 · embedding.io · ▲305I built this tool because I wanted a way to just take a bunch of URLs or domains, and query their content in RAG applications. It takes away the pain of crawling, extracting content, chunking, vectorizing, and updating periodically. I'm curious to see if it can be useful to others. I meant to launch this six months ago but life got in the way...
A free minimalist daily habit tracker2024 · rdht.vercel.app · ▲158Hello. I was looking for a simple and clean habit tracker. I went through a few apps but felt they were missing something. I also had some time on my hands, so decided to make my own and share it in case anyone else likes it. Some of the supported features: Streaks based, track and beat your longest streaks Fully useable offline Freezes (similar to Duolingo's streak freezes) Visual map for tracking consistency Pause the app when you need a break or will be away For anyone curious about the tech stack: - React for frontend - Dexie cloud for storage and syncing - Vercel for hosting Link:…
A Minimal Monthly Task Planner (printable, offline, no signup)Dec 2025 · printcalendar.top · ▲94Hi HN, I built a tiny tool because I couldn’t find a clean, distraction-free monthly planner that: 1. shows a clean monthly task view 2. doesn’t require an account 3. doesn’t sync or store anything online 4. works offline 5. is printable 6. and keeps a minimal, distraction-free aesthetic So I made https://printcalendar.top/ — a minimal monthly task planner. It’s intentionally simple. No logins, no integrations, no dashboards. Just a small tool for people who want structure without clutter.
Wellcome2020 · wellcome.me · ▲95Hi everyone, I got tired of the daily "Where is everyone working from?" / "Who's coming in today" messages in various slack channels. So I built *FindMyTeam*: it's a Slack app that pings your team once a day with three buttons – Home, Office, Traveling – and then shows a quick who's‑where summary (plus a monthly heat‑map in the App Home to see patterns). How it works: * Once a day the app posts a reminder to check-in * Either hit one of the three buttons, or use natural language (AI, yo! ;) * The app maintains a summary each day in the channel * Reminder times can be customized per…
I spent 4 months building Duolingo but for your life2025 · three-cells.com · ▲90I initially released this as just an IOS app. Since then it has been growing steadily but a lot of people have emailed asking for a web / android version. It took me nearly 2 months to build a version for the web. The nice thing about using Convex as my backend is that all the data is always synced between the app and web. I do not have to setup any syncing logic. The moment you change something in the app, it will reflect on the web version in realtime. I know there are loads of these kind of tools online but it's starting to feel like mine is actually starting to differentiate itself…

I built the world's most impractical 1000-pixel display and anyone in the world can draw on it. It draws a single pixel at a time and takes 30-60 minutes to complete a single image. Anyone can participate in the project by voting for the next image to be drawn, and submitting images. https://kilopx.com/

Kitten TTS is an open-source series of tiny and expressive text-to-speech models for on-device applications. We are excited to launch a preview of our smallest model, which is less than 25 MB. This model has 15M parameters. This release supports English text-to-speech applications in eight voices: four male and four female. The model is quantized to int8 + fp16, and it uses onnx for runtime. The model is designed to run literally anywhere eg. raspberry pi, low-end smartphones, wearables, browsers etc. No GPU required! We're releasing this to give early users a sense of the latency and voices…

I was wondering how I can arrange objects along a spherical helix path, and read some articles on it. I ended up learning about parametric equations again, and make this visualization to document what I learned: https://visualrambling.space/moving-objects-in-3d/ feel free to visit and let me know what you think!

For HTML Day 2025 [1], I made a web service that displays the current sky at your approximate location as a CSS gradient. Colours are simulated on-demand using atmospheric absorption and scattering coefficients. Updates every minute, without the use of client-side JavaScript.
