Lock All Your Apps To Pray On Time

What it does
I’m in China for a month, moving around a lot. At first I thought my issue was just finding Qibla and prayer times. But honestly… it was me. I kept scrolling before sleep, after Fajr… and delaying prayer. So I built something for myself. Today I’m launching Tadkir. It shows prayer times based on your location, but more importantly — it locks your phone when it’s time to pray. To unlock it, you have to say “wallahi I prayed.” Now it’s simple: lie… or pray. Alhamdulillah, I choose to pray.
Tadkir is a private prayer companion that helps you guard your salah: accurate on-device prayer times, a Qibla AR compass, a streak flower that grows as you pray on time, and a focus mode that quiets distracting apps during prayer.
Tadkir keeps your prayers in view — accurate times for your location, a Qibla compass in AR, a streak flower that blooms as you pray on time, and a quiet focus mode for the moments that matter most. One tap — calculated right here in your browser, the same way the app does it on your phone. Your location never leaves this page. Muslim World League method shown — in the app you choose your exact method & madhab, and it all works offline. Gentle reminders, honest tracking, and a little help staying off the phone when it's time to stand before Allah. When the adhan calls, Tadkir can quiet the apps that pull you away — so the first thing you reach for is your prayer, not your feed. Each prayer…from tadkirapp.online

Homebrew 6.0.0▲1,481Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!

Hi HN! I was super frustrated at apps like tiktok and wechat preventing me from saving or downloading the animated gifs, so I made a little tool to turn a screen recording into a slack-sized emoji. Hope you get some value from this!
