In plain words
Takehome.io is a platform that delivers time-limited coding challenges through Git repositories for technical screening during hiring. Designed for recruiters and engineering teams, it allows candidates to complete tasks in their familiar development environment rather than on whiteboards or specialized platforms. The service includes pre-built challenges in multiple programming languages with boilerplate code and instructions, while also supporting custom challenge creation. Organizations can use Takehome for remote or in-office technical interviews.

From the sources
Strictly timeboxed tasks level the playing field. Place less pressure on candidates and improve diversity. Test people with the tools they're familiar with, in an environment they're comfortable in. Takehome is the best way to conduct technical screening, regardless of whether you share an office or not. There are challenges targeted at many languages complete with boilerplate code and detailed instructions. The best challenge is the one you write yourself. It's easy to modify one of ours or create your own from scratch. (Takehome handles the first bits. Those last two are up to you.) Takehome clearly and strictly limits the amount of time allowed for a challenge. Time limited challenges…from takehome.io

GitHiredDec 2025 · githired.tech · ▲360Hey HN - today I’m launching GitHired. A hiring platform that ranks developers based on what they actually build — not what they claim on a PDF. It’s called GitHired, and here’s the core idea: GitHub > Resumes Instead of trusting “proficient in React” bullet points, we analyze a candidate’s actual GitHub: their real tech stack their most complex projects how active they are what kinds of contributions they make which skills match your job description and yes, we detect fake “green square farming.” Why we built this Because engineering hiring is broken. Resumes are inflated. Activity charts…

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
