Tech AI Wire

Daily AI & dev-tools tech news for people who ship code

What it does

Tech AI Wire is a daily news site about AI and developer tools, written for the people who use the thing, not the people funding it. What makes it different: - Every story ends with "What this means for developers" - the takeaway most coverage skips - At least two independent, named sources per story, all linked - Prices, dates and benchmarks attributed in the text; rumors labeled as rumors - Published in six languages - No paywall, no filler - on a thin news day we publish fewer stories

Daily news on AI models, developer tools and the software industry, written for the people who build software.

Go 1.27 shipped on August 19, 2026 with generic methods, a v2 engine under encoding/json, goroutine leak profiles and post-quantum signatures. Kubernetes 1.37 moves KubeletInUserNamespace to beta. The kubelet, container runtimes, CNI plugins and kube-proxy can now all run as a non-root user. VS Code 1.136 ships Agent Merge in preview. An agent answers review comments, fixes failing checks and resolves conflicts until a pull request is ready. Anthropic says an internal model wrote 13 million lines of Lean in 11 days, producing a complete machine-checked proof of Fermat's Last Theorem. Babashka 1.13.220 adds an FFI built on Java's Panama API, so a Clojure script can call a native library…from techaiwire.com

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
