What it does
Tessera turns dense academic papers into evidence-linked explanations. Search any paper and get a clear summary where every sentence clicks back to the exact passage, figure, or equation in the source—so you can cite with confidence and understand faster.

Open Paper2025 · openpaper.ai · ▲289Hi HN! Open Paper allows you to annotate and understand your research papers with an AI copilot. I wanted a paper-reading assistant that let met actually dig into papers in-place while benefiting from AI tooling. When it comes to studying, I'm not a fan of the typical chat interfaces that obfuscate uploaded files and turn them into black box 'content'. Hence, I've implemented a split-pane view. To mitigate the risk of hallucinations, all AI responses come with grounded citations that refer back to the source material in-flow. Some feature highlights: - Actually read your papers in one place…
Explainpaper – Explain jargon in academic papers with GPT-32022 · explainpaper.com · ▲223heyo! Explainpaper lets you upload a research paper PDF. If you don't understand a formula or sentence, just highlight it and the tool explains it for you I built this a few weeks ago to help me read a neuroscience paper, and it works pretty well! I didn't fine-tune GPT-3, but I do take a lot of context from the paper and feed that into the prompt (not the whole paper). Ppl have uploaded AI, biology, economics, philosophy papers and even law documents. Works in Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, French and more as well!

Web Researcher MCPJun 2026 · github.com · ▲22A few weeks ago I posted an early version of this. It was just an MCP doing web search for AI assistants. Since then it evolved rapidly. The problem I kept running into is that when I use an LLM for research, it gives me citations that look right but aren't most of the time. Sometimes the paper doesn't exist. Sometimes it does exist but it's been retracted. Most times the sources are not fully vetted nor truly relevant to my search. I got tired of checking these manually. That's why I built this updated MCP. It looks the work up in Crossref to confirm it's real. It checks the Retraction…

I built the world's most impractical 1000-pixel display and anyone in the world can draw on it. It draws a single pixel at a time and takes 30-60 minutes to complete a single image. Anyone can participate in the project by voting for the next image to be drawn, and submitting images. https://kilopx.com/

Kitten TTS is an open-source series of tiny and expressive text-to-speech models for on-device applications. We are excited to launch a preview of our smallest model, which is less than 25 MB. This model has 15M parameters. This release supports English text-to-speech applications in eight voices: four male and four female. The model is quantized to int8 + fp16, and it uses onnx for runtime. The model is designed to run literally anywhere eg. raspberry pi, low-end smartphones, wearables, browsers etc. No GPU required! We're releasing this to give early users a sense of the latency and voices…

I was wondering how I can arrange objects along a spherical helix path, and read some articles on it. I ended up learning about parametric equations again, and make this visualization to document what I learned: https://visualrambling.space/moving-objects-in-3d/ feel free to visit and let me know what you think!

For HTML Day 2025 [1], I made a web service that displays the current sky at your approximate location as a CSS gradient. Colours are simulated on-demand using atmospheric absorption and scattering coefficients. Updates every minute, without the use of client-side JavaScript.
