The Multiverse Employee Handbook – Podcast

Hey HN, I recently launched a podcast called The Multiverse Employee Handbook, where I mix light-hearted humor with some science fiction and a sprinkle of quantum physics. It’s set in a surreal corporate universe where office politics, interdimensional HR dilemmas, and wormhole deliveries are all part of the daily grind. Each narrative episode explores a different aspect of this multiverse, like quantum entanglement in the mailroom or cosmic deadlines. It’s definitely more on the fun and absurd side of things, but I try to weave in real science concepts (in the simplest way possible, of…

What it does

In the maker’s words, at launch

Hey HN, I recently launched a podcast called The Multiverse Employee Handbook, where I mix light-hearted humor with some science fiction and a sprinkle of quantum physics. It’s set in a surreal corporate universe where office politics, interdimensional HR dilemmas, and wormhole deliveries are all part of the daily grind. Each narrative episode explores a different aspect of this multiverse, like quantum entanglement in the mailroom or cosmic deadlines. It’s definitely more on the fun and absurd side of things, but I try to weave in real science concepts (in the simplest way possible, of course). Not trying to be the next big thing, just hoping a few folks out there might find it an entertaining break from reality. If you’re into sci-fi, comedy, or just need something light while you code, feel free to check it out. Would love to hear what you think—feedback is always welcome! Here’s the link: multiverseemployeehandbook.com Cheers!

    Self-Published Book – “Data Science in Production”2020 · ▲172

Hi HN, Over the past 6 months I've been working on a technical book focused on helping aspiring data scientists to get hands-on experience with cloud computing environments using the Python ecosystem. The book is targeted at readers already familiar with libraries such as Pandas and scikit-learn that are looking to build out a portfolio of applied projects. To author the book, I used the Leanpub platform to provide drafts of the text as I completed each chapter. To typeset the book, I used the R bookdown package by Yihui Xie to translate my markdown into a PDF format. I also used Google docs…

    Top HN articles in human-read podcast format2017 · ▲42

Hi HN, Like many of you, I found myself discovering dozens of great posts on HN and never actually finding the time read them. I used to save every cool link to Pocket, but… well… same story — I rarely found the time to read them. So I thought it'd be great to listen to the top articles, the same way I listen to podcasts. Initially, I tried out narrating articles with latest text-to-speech synthesis from Amazon and Google, but it was still pretty bad. Especially with long form content. So I thought I'll do this with real humans, real voice actors. So I made ReadByHumans. [1] We are starting…

    My Degenerate Craps SimulatorFeb 2026 · infinitecraps.com · ▲6

Hello HN: I love the randomness of the universe. I've been spending some time creating a Craps simulator to help experience this love without having to shell out like a real degenerate. For others similarly fascinated: I would love to hear any and all feedback you've got on this. It's meant to be unique in the sense that it's a community-oriented, infinite simulation.

A narrative style podcast about DevOps, Kubernetes and Cloud Native2020 · ▲5

Hi HN! My name is Aymen, and I'm here with Kenichi. Some years ago, I launched a side project. A newsletter called DevOpsLinks, then a 2nd newsletter (Shipped), then a third one (Kaptain). These 3 newsletters are now part of a bigger project that I called FAUN (https://faun.dev). We have newsletters, a Slack team chat, and a job board, but I had a feeling that something is missing... it's a podcast, right :) Last year, I discussed the idea of creating a podcast with a member of FAUN (who is Kenichi btw), but we were not really ready. That's why it took us some months to start…

  • Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…
