Time Travel with Your SQL

Hi, my name is Anguel and I am one of the developers of WhoDB (https://github.com/clidey/whodb) I am not a fan of the dbeaver, beekeeper, adminer, etc experience because they are bloated, ugly, and at best okay but not great. Hence why I started working on WhoDB. The approach: - browser-based (chrome/firefox) - no bloat - jupyter notebook-like experience (Scratchpad) - built-in AI co-pilot with ollama (local) or openai/anthropic We just shipped query history and replay (time travel?) to the Scratchpad. Would love for you to check it out and give some feedback…

In plain words

WhoDB is a browser-based SQL database client designed as a lightweight alternative to traditional tools like DBeaver and Beekeeper. It features a Jupyter notebook-style scratchpad interface for writing and organizing queries, along with built-in AI assistance powered by local Ollama or cloud providers like OpenAI and Anthropic. The tool recently added query history and replay functionality, allowing users to revisit and re-execute previous database work.

  • SQL Explorer – Open-source reporting tool that Just Works2024 · github.com · ▲215

I have been working on SQL Explorer, an open source, Django-based reporting and query tool for (gulp!) almost ten years. It's a tool that fits just right for me and many others, and I love and use almost every day. Write SQL, share results, do some analysis, get insight. No surprises. A live demo instance is here (no login or anything required): https://demo.sqlexplorer.io/ And here's a fairly unprofessional, but very enthusiastic, video tour: https://sql-explorer.s3.amazonaws.com/Sql+Explorer+5.mp4 The UI is constrained enough that there's very little to learn,…

  • Hi everyone, I built PyXL — a hardware processor that executes a custom assembly generated from Python programs, without using a traditional interpreter or virtual machine. It compiles Python -> CPython Bytecode -> Instruction set designed for direct hardware execution. I’m sharing an early benchmark: a GPIO test where PyXL achieves a 480ns round-trip toggle — compared to 14-25 micro seconds on a MicroPython Pyboard - even though PyXL runs at a lower clock (100MHz vs. 168MHz). The design is stack-based, fully pipelined, and preserves Python's dynamic typing without static type restrictions.…
