Timeless articles posted on Hacker News, written 1321 to 2021

In plain words

Timeless articles posted on Hacker News is a collection of articles from the Hacker News community spanning 700 years of content, launched in December 2021. The site curates pieces that have proven to be enduringly relevant and valuable to the technology and science-focused audience. It serves readers interested in exploring historically significant discussions and insights that have resonated within the Hacker News community over time. The collection helps users discover older articles worth reading rather than focusing solely on recent posts.

    I made a modern web UI for Hacker News2022 · modernhn.com · ▲308

Hey HN, I made this free browser extension that modernizes the Hacker News design. I previously launched Modern for Wikipedia [1] here back in December, and it seemed like the obvious next choice to build one for HN too! So I've taken what I learned from building that, and have spent all my spare time this year building Modern for HN. I realize this won't be for everyone, but it was a fun project to work on, and I'm really happy with the result so far. Hope you like it too! Lots more planned for future updates, and suggestions welcome :) [1]…

Visit the front page of Hacker News on a random day2024 · randomhackernews.com · ▲267

Hi HN. I was surprised that there wasn't a feature here that lets you go back in time to the front page of Hacker News on a random day...so I made one. http://randomhackernews.com is a simple HTML page that navigates you to the front page of HN on a random day between today and February 19, 2007 (the oldest date I could find with content). I made this for myself, but figured others may find some interest in it.

Wayback Letter - Looking back at 5+ years of Hacker News2012 · ▲59

I just sent out my 100th issue of Hacker Newsletter and announced my newest newsletter: Wayback Letter - http://www.waybackletter.com/ In either a daily or weekly version, you'll get links to great HN articles from the past five years. A great way to see how HN has grown and changed, plus see what was going on at different times. Lastly, there are a ton of great reads to learn from that I never saw the first go around. Would love to get feedback and my goal is to expand this past HN in the future.
