What it does

toplocal is a pay-to-rank leaderboard where any product website or X (@handle) bids real US dollars to rank in a specific country. The ranking has one input: dollars. The highest cumulative bid holds #1, the next-highest #2, and so on. Rankings are per-country and independent — the same product can be #1 in the United States and #12 in Brazil. An "All countries" view aggregates each listing by its total bids across every country.

Bid real dollars to rank #1 on any continent. Highest bid wins the top spot, from Europe to Asia. One input: dollars.

  I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano.
