Traceroute Visualizer

Hey everyone, I've made this website that I hope can help some people. The original inspiration comes from being tired of having a specific site (and finding it!!) that serves my needs for a single purpose. Straight forward tools, no fuss. The objective is to be fully in-browser, no login and if possible without contacting a remote server. PGP Key Analyser - Analyze PGP keys directly in your browser - finally I can see the infos without having to download the key on my device Proton Date - Check ProtonMail account creation dates - pretty niche I admit Favicon Hash - Generate website favicon…

Traceroute Visualizer launched on September 29, 2025 with 98 votes, #324 of 8,160 launches that month and more than 95% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.

In plain words

Traceroute Visualizer displays network route data on a map, showing round-trip time and packet distance for network diagnostics. The tool accepts input from traceroute, MTR, and flyingroutes commands, providing a visual representation that existing solutions lacked. It's designed for network administrators and engineers who need to visualize and analyze network paths and latency in real time.

From the sources

Visualize network traceroute paths with interactive maps. Analyze network hops, latency, and geographic routing for troubleshooting and security research.

This free tool helps network administrators and security researchers visualize network paths with geographic data. Supports standard traceroute, tracert, advanced flyingroutes, and MTR output to see the geographic path your packets take across the internet. traceroute to google.com (142.250.191.14), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets 1 192.168.1.1 (192.168.1.1) 1.234 ms 1.123 ms 1.045 ms 2 10.0.0.1 (10.0.0.1) 5.678 ms 5.432 ms 5.234 ms 3 * * * 4 90.126.109.6 (90.126.109.6) 12.123 ms 12.045 ms 11.987 ms Flyingroutes example (with protocol breakdown): Hop 1: 192.168.1.1 (router) - ICMP: 3.36ms, UDP: 6.69ms, TCP: 6.85ms Hop 2: 96.126.116.1 - ICMP: 18.41ms, UDP: 18.4ms, TCP: 18.48ms Hop 3:…from kriztalz.sh

In the maker’s words, at launch

This nifty tool plots the traceroute results and shows you the RTT as well as the distance travelled by the packets! Supports MTR, flyingroutes and of course, traceroute. The existing solutions were too limited so I made that. Let me know if you have any feedback

Tracemap – run and visualize traceroutes from probes around the worldMar 2026 · tracemap.dev · ▲6

Hi HN, I thought it would be fun to plot a traceroute on a map to visually see the path packets take. I know this idea has been done before, but I still wanted to scratch that itch. The first version just let you paste in a traceroute and it would plot the hops on a map. Later I discovered Globalping (https://globalping.io), which allows you to run traceroutes and MTRs from probes around the world, so I integrated that into the tool. From playing around with it, I noticed a few interesting things: • It's very easy to spot incorrect IP geolocation. If a hop shows 1–2 ms latency but…

I've frequently found myself using [nvitop](https://github.com/XuehaiPan/nvitop) to diagnose GPU/CPU contention issues. The two best things about it are: - It's easy to install if I can access pip in the container - It makes a compelling screenshot (which helps me communicate with coworkers.) With those two lessons in mind: Here is Sping! Purpose: Help observe and diagnose latency issues at layer 4+ (TCP/HTTP/HTTPS) Two good things about it: - It's easy to install if you have pip. Hi everyone, I recently published a small open-source project. It’s a minimal network packet analyzer written in Go — designed more like a learning toy than a replacement for Wireshark. It currently supports parsing basic protocols like TLS, DNS, and HTTP, and includes a tiny fuzzing engine to test payload responses. You can inspect raw packet content directly from the terminal. The output is colored for readability, and the code structure is kept simple and clear. The entire program is very small — just about 400 lines of Go code. I know it’s not anywhere near Wireshark’s level, and I still…

What's there: - REST API — 35k products, manually filterable by category, free key, 60 req/min - CLI — npx anycrap random -c food - faker.js plugin — bundled, no API call, works offline - HuggingFace dataset — full 35k rows for ML/training https://anycrap.shop/developers

  • I made a built-from scratch Wayland Compositor to display any GUI app* in the terminal! I think there is a lot of unexplored potential in custom Wayland compositors, a lot of really cool things you can embed existing applications into! So, I started with embedding apps into the terminal because that is the easiest input/output (output is just utf-8 and I use the great `chafa` library for that, and I just read from stdin for the input). If you have any other ideas for cool Wayland compositors, let me know. I purposedly wrote 80% the app in Typescript to appeal to the most developers and…

Years ago I stumbled across a basic version of this concept and it stuck with me. I knew if I was ever going to take on such a project, it would need to be flawless, but without coding experience it was just another idea that would never happen. By the end of 2024, as AI coding tools exploded everywhere, I finally had a way to make it real. I started from zero knowledge and spent months collaborating with AI agents as a learning experience. Every pixel and every function went through me. The AI translated what I asked for into code, but every decision was human. I didn't use existing OS…
