In plain words

Triadex Muse in a Browser is a JavaScript recreation of the original 1969 Triadex Muse, a digital algorithmic music composer designed by Marvin Minsky and Edward Fredkin at MIT. It runs entirely in a web browser, allowing users to experience the classic device's music composition capabilities without needing the original hardware. The software is featured in an exhibition called "AI: More than Human" at the Barbican Centre in London and the Groninger Forum in the Netherlands, making this piece of computing history accessible to a wide audience.

From the sources

The JavaScript Muse is included in an exhibition at the Barbican Centre in London called AI: More than Human , running from May 16 to August 26. After that, the exhibit will be traveling to the Groninger Forum , the Netherlands. This is a software simulation of the Triadex Muse that runs in a browser. The Muse was a digital algorithmic music composer invented in 1969 by Marvin Minsky and Edward Fredkin at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It was built with the digital logic circuitry of the day; gates, registers, and counters in simple integrated circuits. While strongly associated with electronic music, The Muse was not a "synthesizer" as it only played a fixed level square wave.…from till.com

This is an web audio experiment I've been wanting to do for a long time. Basically an ambient music composition, but all the sound elements are laid out in space, and that musical space can be explored freely. It's definitely inspired by in-world music that sometimes appears in games. I basically took that concept, keeping the music aspect, and dropping the entire "game" aspect. I also turned it into a more "traditional" non-interactive album, but since I started with code, why not program the whole thing? Had a blast making the entire album from code, the complete source for the album is…

Hey HN, I’m an ex-Google engineer trying to get back into music production. I needed a way to sequence my hardware synths using AI contexts without constantly switching windows, so I built this. It runs entirely in the browser using WebMIDI. No login required. It connects to your local MIDI devices (if you're on Chrome/Edge) and lets you generate patterns. Tech stack: [React / WebMIDI API / etc]. Link: www.simplychris.ai/droplets Code is a bit messy, but it works. Feedback welcome.
