TripTov

Reads your booking emails, knows what you are covered for

What it does

Forward any booking confirmation and TripTov files it into an organized trip with the deadlines tracked. Then it reads the actual benefit guides for the credit cards you hold and reports what that trip is protected against. Paying with airline miles voids some cards' baggage cover. Splitting a fare across two cards can break both. Your health plan probably stops at the border. It never guesses: if a guide doesn't grant something, the answer is unknown, not yes. Free, no ads.

Forward a booking confirmation and TripTov files it into the right trip, then reads your credit cards and policies and tells you what that trip is actually protected against. Free.

Forward a booking confirmation and it files itself. Then TripTov reads the benefit guides for the cards you actually hold and answers the question out loud, before you travel rather than after a claim. The whole fare is on Chase Sapphire Reserve, so its trip protections are active for this trip. Flights, hotels, rental cars, cruises, activities. Send the email you already received to your own TripTov address and stop typing travel details into apps. It reads the message and its attachments, works out which trip it belongs to, and files it with the dates, the confirmation code and the cancellation deadline attached, in the right time zone. • I made OwnTime to balance between competing priorities in my life. The idea is based on two main influences: the concept of "roles" from "The 5 Choices" (2015), and my repeated failure to effectively implement time blocking due to the necessary flexibility in my role. The app allows you to define time budgets, which are not much more than a few mutually exclusive countdown timers. The UX is essentially that of a chess clock for an arbitrary number of players with configurable time. The whole point of the app is to kick you out of the running role/priority when its time is up.
