The Card Caddie
I’m relatively new to the whole “credit card game” but over the past year I’ve been optimizing my daily spending for points. In August I’m heading to Southeast Asia for a year, and I have all my flights covered using points earned just from everyday spending. Keeping track of all the different rewards categories was confusing, so I built The Card Caddie, a free tool that helps you figure out which credit card to use for each purchase to maximize points and perks. It’s pretty simple right now, but I’d love feedback, ideas, or any suggestions for features that would actually help you. Website:…
The Card Caddie launched on July 16, 2025 with 11 votes, #1,852 of 9,223 launches that month and more than 50% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.
What it does
Free website and chrome extension that estimates merchant categories from website domains and provides personalized credit card recommendations, without any personal info!
Free tool that instantly shows which of your credit cards earns the most at every store, online or in person. Built by one person who traveled for nine months on the points. No card numbers required.
With credit card rewards, you could be saving more than you think. I love travelling for as cheap as possible. Credit card rewards offer travel benefits redeemable from regular spending. I figured I could travel full time (for cheap) by timing credit card sign-on bonuses and optimizing my spending. I got so many rewards that I decided to travel for nine months through Southeast Asia and Australia, where I got 36 hotel nights and 5 flights for free. The system isn't complicated, it is just tedious. Every purchase is a small decision, and getting it wrong costs you a little at a time. The Card Caddie does one thing: it tells you what card to use anytime you pay, so you can travel like me: for…from thecardcaddie.com

This is a free tool that helps you manage and visualize your credit card rewards across different categories. You can input the cards in your wallet and see how they complement each other, spot gaps in your setup, and also see the best card to use for a given merchant. I’m also a founder at OneCard, where we’re building a smart card that’ll eventually handle all of this automatically, routing each purchase to the best card in real-time. Would love feedback from the HN community!

Travel Hacking Toolkit – Points search and trip planning with AIApr 2026 · github.com · ▲95I use points and miles for most of my travel. Every booking comes down to the same decision: use points or pay cash? To answer that, you need award availability across multiple programs, cash prices, your current balances, transfer partner ratios, and the math to compare them. I got tired of doing it manually across a dozen tabs. This toolkit teaches Claude Code and OpenCode how to do it. 7 skills (markdown files with API docs and curl examples) and 6 MCP servers (real-time tools the AI calls directly). It searches award flights across 25+ mileage programs (Seats.aero), compares cash prices…

Trickle - Magic Canvas ▲1,064Hey HN! Introducing Trickle Magic Canvas: the world’s first Agentic Canvas, where you can visually co-create apps and websites with AI, from idea to production. Why is a canvas better? Most AI tools today rely on linear chats or text prompts. We believe that limits creativity and clarity. Canvas changes the game. 1. Every version & page at a glance. Each page and sub-page lives on a timeline. You can quickly browse, edit, and preview progress like a living, visual document — no more digging through chat logs or scattered states. 2. The canvas is the context. Unlike linear chats, you can…

Today marks ten years, 3653 consecutive days, of running at least one mile every day under the USRSA rules [1]. To celebrate, I built an interactive dashboard that turns a decade of GPX files into charts you can explore. Running has truly changed my life: I've made lifelong friends, explored beautiful places, and more importantly invested into my own health and fitness, which I'm starting to see the positive benefits as I get older. The stack is pretty simple: a NextJS app, with a Postgres database to keep all my running data, and all the stats are pre-computed and cached in Redis, so I…

Made this website as an exercise in vibe-coding and GCP. It was posted about a few times around the internet, on sites like Morning Brew (https://www.morningbrew.com/issues/business-buzzkill), MetaFilter (https://www.metafilter.com/209703/Draw-A-Fish), boingboing.net, etc. I think it's cute! I built a basic CNN trained against penises and swastikas, and then anything that doesn't hit the 63% confidence score gets sent to a mod queue, a vibe-coded fish-tinder…

Hi HN - I made a site that takes a UK postcode, grabs the local MP's information and generates an AI mockup of what their ID might look like. It's a small, silly protest at the stupidity of the Online Safety Act that just came into force. edit - My open AI credits got hugged to death, please use a known postcode (like one from Kier Starmer's constituency, WC2B6NH) in the meantime.
